How do I get my card back when an ATM keeps its ?

‹ My boyfriend wants to use my credit card for a purchase, should he sign my name or his ? I live in the US; can I use my credit card out of the country for purchases ? ›

I have lost my card a couple of times, but always in my banks own ATM. I don;t like to pay fees to get my money. If I call the bank first thing in the AM, they keep my card until I pick it up that morning.

How odd! Everyone I know who has had this happen got it sent back to them in the mail.

But it's pretty rare anymore....most just want you to swipe or insert and remove.

You call the bank where the ATM is, but you need to call first thing the next day. They should have it in the branch, but if you wait too long, they will destroy the card.

When this happens, the ATM provider cuts the card in half and sends it back to the issuer. You must call the credit card company and request a new card if it was kept because of error on your part.
