What is the difference between a debt card and a credit card ?

A debt card is one issued by your bank and purchases are deducted from your checking account. They work as a check without having to write it out. A credit card is one you charge purchases and then receive a monthly statement with a minimum monthly payment. You are also charged interest where as a debt card is free.
